Summer in Dornbirn: Experience and Enjoy!
Under the motto “SommErleben” (Summer Experience), Dornbirn once again offers a diverse program of events this summer. From June 18 to September 5, the city will come alive with a wide variety of happenings: whether it’s the weekly “Wochenteiler,” concerts, themed markets, cinema nights, or food festivals – there’s something for everyone!
The warm season draws people to the city center to enjoy the summer atmosphere and the rich event lineup in Dornbirn, leaving no wishes unfulfilled. From mid-June to early September, many small and big highlights create pure summer vibes.
“SommErleben” Dornbirn: All Event Dates
- Wochenteiler – Every Wednesday from June to September, Market Square
The new event series “Wochenteiler” turns Dornbirn’s Market Square into a relaxed hotspot every Wednesday from June to September (weather permitting). From 6:00 pm to midnight, visitors can unwind after work with cool drinks, good music, and delicious food in the open air. - Jazzseminar Night – Thursday, June 19, 2025, Market Square
On Thursday, June 19, the Dornbirn Music School invites you to the Jazzseminar Night. Together with singers from the classes of Aja Zischg and Waltraud Köttler, they will fill the Market Square with stylish swing, groovy funk, and soulful melodies. Expect great songs from Bruno Mars, Aretha Franklin to Glenn Miller, creating true summer vibes. Directed by Uli Binetsch, the event starts at 8:30 pm. - Longest Day of Brass Music – Friday, June 20, 2025, Market Square
Three Dornbirn music clubs will present a varied evening program and invite visitors to enjoy a cozy summer evening with music and refreshments. From 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, they will perform their repertoires. - Long Shopping Night – Friday, June 27, 2025, City Center
The Dornbirn city center comes alive when many shops stay open until 9:00 pm on June 27, inviting visitors to enjoy a special evening shopping experience. Participating stores located outside the city center will offer their goods at market stalls. Shoppers can expect little surprises and great promotions along the way. - Night Flea Market – Thursday, July 3, 2025, City Center
The popular ländleanzeiger.at night flea market transforms the city center from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm into a paradise for bargain hunters! At 80 market stalls, many treasures can be discovered. Only takes place in good weather. - Silent Disco – Friday, July 4, 2025, Market Square
Following the concept of silent cinema, the Silent Disco transmits the beats of two DJs on two channels, competing for the dancers’ attention. The Dornbirn Market Square turns into an open-air disco of the highest class. In case of bad weather, the alternative date is Saturday, July 26. Tickets and info at silentdisco.at. - Toy Flea Market – Wednesday, July 9, August 6 & September 3 and Saturday, July 12, August 9 & September 6, Parish Park
At the popular toy flea market, children can sell their used but functional toys at six dates throughout the summer. No prior registration is needed. Space allocation takes place onsite between 8:00 am and 9:00 am. The market is canceled in case of rain. - Summer in the City – Thursday, July 10 to Saturday, July 12, 2025
On the big stage at the Market Square, regional and national artists take turns from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Thursday kicks off with “DJ Voltair” and “Rootsman Fyah” bringing top-notch reggae vibes. On Friday, “LOU” and “PHILU Extended” perform, followed by “Noah Bono” and “Erwin & Edwin” from Vienna for a grand finale on Saturday. This year again, the unique open-air cinema experience returns to Dornbirn. The location at Gütle near the Mammut tree promises a stunning backdrop. On a mild summer evening with fresh popcorn, the movie chosen by public vote is transmitted via headphones. Backup date in case of bad weather is Thursday, July 24. “Make Basketball great again!” is the motto of the Dornbirn basketball club “Peartrees,” bringing the 3x3 Austrian Tour to the Market Square. Saturday features the official tournament following the Dornbirn weekly market, while Sunday is dedicated to amateur players. - Bsundrigs Craft Market – Friday, July 25, 2025, City Center
At this “bsundriger” market across the city center, creatives showcase their handmade products. Visitors can find gifts, souvenirs, garden decorations, home decor, jewelry, soaps, spices, and much more. - Summer in the Park – Thursday, August 7 to Saturday, August 9, 2025, Stadtgarten
For the third year, the Stadtgarten at inatura transforms into a three-day summer experience. The cozy park atmosphere features a children’s program to delight the little ones, a pub quiz to challenge the brain, and bands and DJs to get visitors dancing. - Laurenz Food Festival – Thursday, August 14 to Friday, August 15, 2025, Market Square
At the Laurenz Food Festival, local chefs present small delicious bites and matching drinks over two summer evenings. Enjoy tasting, relaxing in a friendly atmosphere, and live music. Both days from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm. - Street Food Market – Friday, August 22 to Sunday, August 24, 2025, Stadtgarten
Around 20 food trucks offer specialties from around the world during this three-day street food market at Stadtgarten near inatura. A supporting entertainment program ensures a great atmosphere. - 10 Years Urbikuss – Friday, August 29, 2025, City Center
The whole city celebrates a big festival. With free entry to many city facilities, free city bus service, guided tours, a fun children’s program, musical and artistic performances – there’s fun for everyone. The musical highlight in the evening is the band “Dabado,” shaking the Market Square from 8:00 pm. - Mit.Tanzen – Friday, September 5, 2025, Market Square
Whether you wear sneakers or leather boots, young or old, experienced or new to dancing – Mit.Tanzen invites you to join in, play, and move with the energy of the moment, carried by the music.
