Dornbirn is blossoming again: the flower meadow is kicking off the new season!
It's that time of year again: the popular “Dornbirner Blumenwiese” (Dornbirn flower meadow) is back – more colorful than ever and, as always, full of life! City gardener Andreas Dür has once again put together a very special flower mix this year, which not only beautifies gardens but also provides bees and pollinators with valuable habitat. The Dornbirn flower mix is now available from Dornbirn Tourism.
The colorful mix includes cornflowers, cosmos, zinnias, flax, gypsophila, asters, calendula, daisies, nigella, poppies, scabiosa, and campanula. From May to October, it creates a veritable sea of flowers that
transforms terraces, balconies, and gardens into little natural paradises while also making an important contribution to promoting biodiversity.
“Even a small flower meadow can do a lot for biodiversity. The mixture brings color to the garden and provides food for bees and insects throughout the summer,” explains city gardener Andreas Dür.
The “Dornbirner Blumenwiese” is now available at the Dornbirn Tourist Office for €5. It pays to be quick – demand is high every year.
