Dornbirn stands for a high quality of life and repeatedly makes fresh marks on the cityscape with contemporary architecture. Despite these modern buildings, however, the largest city in the country has preserved its original and tranquil village centers. Parts of the city's history can be seen in the typical Rhine Valley houses, the numerous factory owners' villas and former industrial plants, but also in the churches.
From July to September 2023, various exciting city and themed tours of Dornbirn will take place weekly, always on Fridays. The city tours always start at 10:30 a.m. and lead through interesting corners of the city center. Always on Wednesdays at 5 p.m., theme tours take place around architecture, history, industry and other exciting topics. The duration is about 1.5 hours. Meeting point is always at Dornbirn Tourismus & Stadtmarketing GmbH (*except for the theme tours).
