City festival Urbikuss

The unusual name Urbikuss can be derived from the Latin word "urbicus" and means "belonging to the city." "Therefore, on Friday, August 26, we want to give the city back to the citizens a little bit: On "Urbikuss Day", the municipal institutions invite visitors to their homes free of charge and offer a varied program," reports Mayor Andrea Kaufmann. The Dornbirn city bus will also take guests to the city center and back home again free of charge, and retailers and restaurants will also be tempting visitors with attractive offers.

The Urbikuss starts at 9 a.m. with the first free guided city tour. Starting at 10 a.m., street artists will perform in Dornbirn's city center and the "Eislädele" in front of the City Museum will provide sweet refreshment in hot temperatures. The city museum, the inatura, the stadtbad, the Flatz Museum, the vai, the Kunstraum and the city library welcome their guests free of charge and/or offer great activities. Small surprises can be found throughout the day in the city center, such as the photo bus, where free souvenir photos can be taken, or touring musicians who play at various locations in the city center.

Learn exciting, interesting and amusing facts about Dornbirn on a free guided tour of the town: the approximately one-hour tours take you through the market square and Marktstraße to the town library. The tours start at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. in front of the entrance to the Stadtmuseum (on the market square side). For the little ones there is a separate circus tent, where Clown Pompo and Zack & Poing provide fun and entertainment. At the hands-on circus, new tricks can be tried out and practiced with the circus trainers. Clown Pompo will delight all children with his giant soap bubbles and clown shows. In addition, many other activities await the little visitors of the Urbikuss!

The small final concert with Falke & Eule on the market square rounds off the day and gets you in the mood for the following, big Kulturhaus opening from 7 pm. Here it continues with music by Philipp Lingg, Puma Orchestra, Falke & Eule and Mainfelt! At the Urbikuss city festival, you can try out programming motion sequences with Bee-Bots at the city library. The information folder for the event with admission coupons will be enclosed with the Dornbirner Gemeindeblatt on August 12 and can also be picked up at Dornbirn Tourismus from about 2 weeks before the event. On the day of the event the folder will also be distributed at the market place.
